Last week, we presented a couple promo videos for Damu The Fudgemunk's upcoming album, How It Should Sound Volumes 1 & 2. Damu has that "authentic" sound that, for me, is up there with the best. Damu and the cats from Redefinition Records are giving away a promo EP, so y'all can check out what to expect from this release. If you are familiar with Damu, you should already be familiar with his sound, but for those of you wanting to see what you'll be getting, this is your chance......
"How It Should Sound" Volume 1 & 2 will be available worldwide on April 13th.
We're releasing Vol 1 & 2 on VINYL, CD and digitally on our own label, Redefinition Records, with an assist on the distro side via Fat Beats.

Damu & Y Society Releases
What's good boys and girls? Ya know, it's almost that Christmas time of the year and you know what that means: you gotta buy gifts and crap for people that you would rather give them a swift kick in the ass and send them on their way. I mean, it cuts into your beer and stripper money, and what good is that? I found out a long time ago, a good thing to buy people at a fairly cheap price (unless you order the shit online) is music. Get them a disc or a record (or even a tape if you can still find those). Get them something that YOU would like, so if they don't like it, they can give it back to you and your golden.
Well here at WYDU, we are here to help you with that holiday shopping! I know, I know, you are saying to yourself, "Trav, my Grandma already has a No Face's 'Wake Your Daughter Up' on vinyl," and I say to you; so in that case, you gotta go with one of my FAVORITE producers on this side of the sun, Damu The Fudgemunk. That's right, Damu The Fudgemunk, the Washington DC native has been KILLIN' it lately and has to be mentioned in a discussion of the top five current producers. Dude is nothing but ill on the beats, so ill he should change his name to H1N1. And lucky for you, me, and all of us in between, Damu has TWO (2) new projects he is directly associated with.
The first project is from that extremely dope album, Y Society's "Traveling At Your Own Pace." I know the internets went nuts over the album, and rightfully they should. I also know a lot of you were thinking, "Damn, this is a dope album, the only thing missing is an instrumental version." Fear not faithful reader, Damu and JNOTA, who runs Redefinition Records together, have just released a CD version of instrumentals of "Traveling At Your Own Pace", AND WAIT, IT GETS BETTER!!! There is also VINYL! Yup, that's right, for all you DJs and vinyl heads, you don't have to complain about the lack of vinyl, because they gotcha covered. I'm sitting listening to mine spin around and around on the turntable. Nothing but dope beats, that's what you get.
Check out a five track sampler here......

How can you beat that? Well it's not easy, but if we cant', we can come damn close. Damu has a digi/wax, yes, I said wax again, EP coming out on Kilawatt Music. While I haven't received my wax yet, I have had the pleasure of hearing the digital version and it won't disappoint. It also contains one of the top songs of the year in the form of "Prosper", with Panacea MC, Raw Poetic. I can't post the song, but trust me, it's worth it for that song alone. Here is Damu banging out the beat at a BBQ:
Kilawatt V1 is a new EP by Damu featuring Raw Poetic (Panacea), on Kilawatt Music (London Based Label) is NOW AVAILABLE on wax at at kilawattmusic.com and digitally on iTunes. Check some snippets and grab a (vinyl exclusive) bonus beat here.
