For those who know of DJ Quik's homeboys, AMG, Hi-C and 2nd II None, he actually rolled with a few more hombres in the 90's. The whole cast of characters was called the 304 POSSE. It consisted of Quik, 2nd II None (Dee & KK), AMG, Hi-C (my personal fav and one of my all time fav rappers) & Playa Hamm (from Penthouse Players Clique). I know of one other possible member but he only made a few very brief appearances on a few Quik songs, JFN (The Funky White Nigga). Their first appearance together was on "Quik Is the Name's" song "Skanless", the last track on the album. Quik went platinum with his first album and has been a visible producer all these years doing some hits for the likes of Janet Jackson and Tony, Toni, Tone. He was on Death Row in their hey day amd had a hit with Truth Hurts on Aftermath. I urge everyone to not sleep on his latest album, "Trauma". I think Quik stepped his game up on this one after slipping for years on his own projects.

AMG gained fame with "Bitch Betta Have My Money". His sex raps appeared to be a step above 2 Live Crew, yet stayed just as raunchy. But, alas, he feuded with Quik in the mid to late 90's putting out a way below par second album with no help from tha Quiksta. And has since fallen into obscurity except for his appearances on various Quik albums.

2nd II None have released 2 solid albums with the 1st being a great album IMO. I have uploaded a very rare compilation cd that they headed up and have a few songs themselves, called "The Compton Blockz". If you catch one of these cd's on eBay, good luck they appear usually once a year if you are lucky. Don't sleep check it out i think it is a real solid effort.

And, I am wrapping this up with Hi-C. My favorite member of the 304. His first effort, "Skanless" is my top 10 albums of all time. By no means do I consider Crawf Dog a Great MC. But, his tales of sex and drinking will make you laugh and he just seems to put just a little different spin on his tales of romping through the bedroom. His voice stands alone which also sets him apart. Hi-C never takes himself seriously . His laid back attitude comes off as approachable. making his stories something you can relate to.

This is the unreleased version of "Let Me Know" from Hi-C, featuring DJ Quik & Fieldy from Korn, (the album version does not have Fieldy on it):

Bigg Steele featuring Hi-C - Bubble Bounce (West Coast Remix):

All in all, I have included some remixes, a few rare albums (included DJ Quik's Trauma MIXTAPE, which has a few songs that didn't make the album) and a few unreleased songs. (Some of the DJ Quik stuff was recorded off the radio so the quality is not that great. But if you are like me, I would rather have shitty quality rather than not have it at all)

Dope post Brian! 'Bitch Betta Have My Money' and 2nd II None's first album are both personal favorites of mine. Maybe you can help me out with something I've been wondering about for a while... Did AMG have an album called 'Give a Dog a Bone' that came out before 'Bitch Betta Have My Money'? 'Cause I've seen it on a few discographies but have never seen or heard it... Anyways, nice work again.
There's some nice tracks on here I'll have to come back for when I'm on my own computer. Personally I've always lent towards PentHouse Players Clique "Paid The Cost" album as being my favourite.
I've never heard of that AMG mentioned above but thought that his "Ballin Outta Control" is pretty average.
With "Don't Be a 304" what does 304 mean is it a code for something or is it "hoe" when you type it into a calculater and hold it upside down, as in "Don't Be A Hoe"????
Always wondered that?
Nice post, PEACE.
I think that "Give A Dog A Bone" is one of those mysterious albums like Audio Twos "First Dead Indian". In other words I haven't seen it and it isn't as if I haven't tried to find it. i wil def. share it with everyone if I come across it.
That whole 304 thing is hilarious-turning it upside down and all. I will have to look into it. I just assumed it was the area code for the phones where they lived. But 304 is an area code in West Virgina not California. So, i will try to find out, maybe someone else knows if the 304 is a "hoe" connection.
PEACE
Nice fucking post! They've always been one of my favorite west coast crews for sure. I remember having my own homemade tape of Hi C, 2nd II None and AMG. I played it so much, I broke it.
I was always under the impression that deal with 304 was the calculator flipped upside down thing. Ed OG also has a dope song called 304's, peace.
Hey guys...good stuff on this site..just stumbled on it today... i was wondering if you could repost all those 304 songs?? i was too late in getting them and its all stuff i would love to have, especially that Compton Blockz cd... i hope yall get this message and can hook a brother up..thanks alot!
I have the original underground tape and it does not play correctly because it is on a tape.
Does anyone know where to locate it. It sounds just like the 2nd II None song "Niggaz Trippin".
If you want to know what the underground tape sounds like, listen to 2nd II Nones song "Niggaz Trippin".
tredmann
how about a re-up of the albums
